Description
After a few requests, we decided to reverse engineer the Nikon filter turret gear used on all Ti-E filter cube motorized units. In almost every case of these breaking, the gear itself suffered from stress fractures and cracked, resulting in the turret no longer rotating. In some cases, pieces of the old gear can become wedged into the assembly as it rotates, so if you hear a motor skip or grinding noise on your microscope, don’t leave it that way! (See Gallery image here for an example of a failed gear – as well as additional cracks about to occur.)
Replacement of the gear itself is a straightforward process and takes about 20 mins in total. Our replacement gear is fabricated from 100% PETG to tight tolerance insuring a good fit and long lifetime.
These units are produced on demand, and we can usually ship them in 24 hours upon receipt of order.
